TUESDAY CLASSES:

"H I R O H I T I" @5pm

Ages 5-9 years (or placed by skill/height)

HIROHITI team dancers are selected by Nonosina directors. The HIROHITI team is our advanced kids class! The HIROHITI team is a fun but challenging class for advanced kids looking to blossom into future HŌʻATA & HOTU team dancers. (pre requisite: TĪREO team or advanced skill level) 

"H Ō ʻ A T A" @6pm

Ages 10-13 years (or placed by skill/height)

HŌʻATA team dancers are selected by Nonosina directors. The HŌʻATA team is our advanced teen class. At Nonosina we keep this class small to properly give the young women the training needed to help mold them into not only great dancers but educated dancers. (pre requisite: HIROHITI team or advanced skill level)

"H O T U" @7:30pm

Ages 14+ (or placed by skill/height)

The HOTU team is by placement only & is the most advanced co-ed class at Nonosina. HOTU team dancers are challenged, physically emotionally & spiritually with class material. Dancers from this class are chosen to compete, tour & perform. The HOTU team requires the most time & dedication as they are the seniority class. (pre requisite: MĀRAʻI/HŌʻATA team or advanced skill level)

"T Ā N E" @7:30pm *Wednesday

This class is males only for ages ranging from teens to men. All skill levels welcome!

Only intermediate & advanced teen/men will also rehearse Wednesday with HOTU team. Beginners will only rehearse on Tuesdays. 

"T Ī R E O" @5pm

Ages 5-12 (or placed by skill/height)

TĪREO team dancers are our beginner level class for girls. TĪREO team dancers learn the fundamentals of Polynesian dance through movement, dance vocabulary & song. (no dance experience needed)

"T A M A T E A" (meets 1x week) @6pm

Ages 5-13 (or placed by skill/height)

The TAMATEA team dancers are our beginner/intermediate level class for boys. TAMATEA warriors learn the fundamentals of Polynesian dance through movement, dance vocabulary & song. (no dance experience needed)

"T Ā N E" @7pm *Tuesday

This class is males only for ages ranging from teens to men. All skill levels welcome!

Only intermediate & advanced teen/men will also rehearse Wednesday with HOTU team. Beginners will only rehearse on Tuesdays. 

"T Ī R E O" @5pm

Ages 14+ (or placed by skill/height)

The MĀITU team is our beginner level class for teen/women. The MĀITU team dancers learn the fundamentals of Polynesian dance through movement, dance vocabulary & song. (no dance experience needed)

 

"M Ā R A ʻ I" @7-9pm

Ages 14+ (or placed by skill/height)

The MARAʻI is our intermediate level class for teen/women. The MARAʻI team is designated for dancers after completion of the MĀITU Team (or fundamental training & are able to pick up Nonosina technique). The MARAʻI Team will be introduced to more advanced technique & some of dancers will train to audition for the Black Team. (pre-requisite: MĀITU/HŌʻATA team or clean execution of basics + Nonosina choreography)
